What is microderabrasion?

A state-of-the-art refinishing procedure i.e. is removes skin debris, and reduces imperfections, blemishes, wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation in the skin. (Basically, it rubs off a few epidermal layers which grow back like new “baby” skin).

The patented machine uses a sterile diamond tipped wand to abrade the top layer of skin, while vacuuming off the skin debris; dirt and dead skin build up.

SplashMicro (Diamond Peel) vs. Crystal Microdermabrasion

The crystal microdermabrasion technology involves the use of a special, hand-held device that propels a high-speed flow of aluminium oxide crystal onto the skin. At the same time, the machine’s vacuum system sucks away dirt, dead cells and used crystals.

The SplashMicro (Diamond Peel) system, on the other hand, places the micro-crystal flow with a diamond tip wand. Areas closer to the eyes and mouth can be abraded more accurately with SplashMicro (no risk of stray crystals causing damage or being ingested).

SplashMicro machines come with tipped wands of varied size and coarseness for different skin types and depths of resurfacing. The wand tip is made up of natural diamond chips which polish the skin and remove dead cells, which are then vacuumed back into a waste filter.

How long is the Recovery?

Most patients experience only minor flushing. As no anaesthesia is required, you can go back to work after treatment, although we recommend no makeup to allow the skin to regenerate and breathe. Avoid sunbaking or exercise for a day or two because sweat may sting the treated area. You can use a soothing moisturiser. How Many Treatments Are Required?

Improvement will continue throughout a 6 week course, one a week for maximum results. This is then followed with maintenance treatments. Each microderabrasion treatment takes about 30 minutes.
